Generations - (Ongoing)

"Doesn't she look like her Mom" - often my sister comes across this phrase, I hope my Mom would have come across the same. This is the phrase that is behind this Series. I call this - 'Generations'. I took up this idea to show the beauty and the power of Genetics, Inheritance. Genetics plays an important role in defining our Physicalities, medical ideologies, and the compiling nature of inheritance which we are facing ever since the existence of Earth. So I framed this portrait out of My Grandmother, My Mother, and My Sister. The three Generations of my Family. Here I wanted to give a visual representation of this Scientific aspect through this idea. I wanted to show the scientific similarities and the cultural and traditional differences that happened over the Generations. Also, there is a sort of illusion over this Photograph which gives different viewing capabilities to the viewer. Out of three faces, if a viewer knows a person and looks at the Photograph, he may be visualizing the entire face despite the other implications, on the other hand, if he doesn't know any of them, he may visualize the entire different face. In this series, I would like to shoot families from various cultural backgrounds, medical backgrounds, and social backgrounds and compile as many as generations in one frame. I am working on it.
